WHAT:  National Air and Space Museum curators are available to discuss the life and career of Amelia Earhart.

This summer marks several anniversaries in the life of the famous aviatrix:

July 2 is the 70th anniversary of her disappearance.

July 24 is the 110th anniversary of her birth.

May 20-21 was the 75th anniversary of Earhart becoming the first woman and only the second person to fly solo, nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean.

The Lockheed 5B Vega she used on that flight (photo left) is displayed in the museum's Pioneers of Flight gallery on the National Mall.

WHERE:  National Air and Space Museum, National Mall building, 6th Street and Independence Avenue SW, Washington, DC
