Communications
The Communications Branch provides support to the
Regional Directorates in the management of communications
activities directed toward internal and external clients.
This activity includes public and media relations and
internal communications
Public relations activities include response to public
inquiries and publication of the stakeholder fact sheet
Transport Trends. Communications publicizes the
department's programs and objectives through print and
electronic media and exhibits.
Media relations activities include preparation of
regional communications plans and communications
materials aimed at the media. Regional media reports are
monitored and analyzed to alert the Department to public
concerns and to ensure the effectiveness of
communications strategies. The Branch also manages
special events, acts and departmental spokesperson, and
provides support to regional directors in their dealings
with the media.
