True
to tradition, the 45th anniversary edition
of the Abbotsford International Air Show
lived up to expectations. The Fraser
Valley city of Abbotsford, British
Columbia, and it's industrious airport
again hosted this world renowned aviation
event, for the usual reserved three days
of early August.
Gates
opened to the public at 8 a.m. and closed
at 6 p.m. each day. In between, a
thrilling, fun filled, and captivating
spectacular that spirited throngs of
visitors into a wondrous realm of amazing
aircraft flying displays, magical
aerobatics, thunderous pyrotechnics,
countless ground exhibits, and other
attractions for one and
all.
Air
program performers included; Canadian
Forces Parachute Team "Skyhawks", Canada's
famous 431 Air Demonstration Team
"Snowbirds" flying their venerable CT-114
Tutor jets, big and fast American and
Canadian fighter jets, Heritage Flights,
Warbirds, aerobats Granley's, Kent
Pietsch, the Red Eagles, Gene Soucy/Teresa
Stokes and "Showcat". Nobody, I believe,
went home disappointed.
The
Abbotsford Airshow Society, the many
hundreds of volunteers, announcers, and
participants are to be congratulated on
another successful year for Canada's
largest airshow.
