Association of Travel Agents of America

MISSION STATEMENT

ATAA is a professional association that provides leadership, and serves as a united voice of the travel sellers industry by empowering, strengthening, educating and supporting its members.

VISION STATEMENT

ATAA members are knowledgeable, successful travel sellers who are the best source of unbiased travel options for the consumer.

ATAA is the driving force that:

· Creates cohesiveness in the travel sellers industry;

· Protects the consumers' right to choose;

· Empowers its members to be leaders in their industry;

· Keeps its members on the leading edge of technology and industry

issues.

ATAA HISTORY

* ATAA was established as Arizona Travel Agents Association in 1983 as a non-profit corporation to advance and promote professionalism in the travel industry, and serve as a unified voice for the industry in Arizona and surrounding regions.

* In 2002, we moved forward with a new name, Association of Travel Agents of America, to better reflect the spirit, strength and breadth of our membership.

* Our charge remains the same: to provide the education and training tools our members need to be successful travel sellers - now and into the future

What makes us different? As a smaller, regional association, ATAA is accessible, flexible, able to respond quickly.  We can meet members' specific needs, while also providing group support and networking opportunities throughout the Southwest.  We provide information and services to help independent sellers and agencies weather today's economy and travel fears.  Plus: The latest on how to run a successful business - tips on business plan, accounting, technology, marketing, investments and more!

We're small but strong. ATAA is a healthy, viable association, well equipped to empower travel sellers as an industry and as individuals. AND, we are not a supplier-driven organization.  The Board is made up of Agency Owners who have been in the trenches with the membership.

Why join?

ATAA is the driving force that:

* Creates cohesiveness in the travel sellers' industry

* Protects the customer's right to choose

* Empowers its members to be leaders in their industry

* Keeps members on the leading edge of technology and industry issues.
