Consider Special Hotels of the World !
]

A niche alliance for premium hotels. The Great Hotels Organisation today announced the launch of Special Hotels of the World, a niche alliance for first class, independent hotels. Special Hotels of the World offers sales and marketing opportunities for unique, interesting, city centre and resort properties that offer excellent facilities and services in the premium sector of the hospitality marketplace. All members will be unified in their unique or 'special' offering for guests. The Special Hotels brand offers two collections targeting the Corporate (business travel, meetings and incentives) and Lifestyle sectors. The Special Hotels' website will be officially unveiled at ITB in March.

Peter Gould, Chairman of the Great Hotels Organisation, comments, "Membership of Special Hotels will bring additional revenue and credibility to hotels and resorts. Independent hotels in the premium sector can now tailor make programmes of innovative sales and marketing initiatives cost effectively. Through Special Hotels, properties will generate business from the geographical and market segments most important for them."

Special Hotels understands that each hotel has a different set of marketing requirements so its niche programmes and additional collection of sales and marketing services allow hotels to build their own 'Ã la carte' membership programme to suit their objectives and budget. In this way, members are able to choose and purchase only the services they require, thus ensuring that membership fees are kept to a minimum and are focused on individual needs. Sales and marketing initiatives that members are able to take advantage of include: trade shows, e-marketing, business travel consortia sales, public relations, a private label GDS chain code and sales blitzes.

Membership of Special Hotels of the World is by invitation only and hotels must meet strict criteria before being accepted. As well as having first class facilities, member properties must offer a unique or 'special' experience for guests.

The 2004/5 Special Hotels of the World directories will be available from autumn 2004.
