NEW 'SCENIC ROADS' WEBSITE MAKES NAVIGATING ARIZONA EASY Planning a road trip in Arizona? Make sure the Information Highway is your first stop. By visiting the new Arizona Scenic Roads website http://www.ArizonaScenicRoads.com, travellers with a thirst for the unique and unusual can take a virtual driving tour of Arizona while mapping out their next vacation. Launched by the Arizona Office of Tourism in response to a growing visitor demand for information on driving tours statewide, the Arizona Scenic Roads web site presents more than 20 detailed itineraries. Visitors to the site can even create their own driving itinerary by clicking on the "Road Trip Planner" button. "Not only is this new website easy to navigate, it makes Arizona easy to navigate," says Chris Ryall, Manager of the Arizona Office of Tourism in Canada. "Many Canadians either drive their own vehicles down to Arizona or rent a car upon arrival. With this visually exciting website, now they can easily select routes which pass through the most spectacular landscapes and culturally rich areas." With each Scenic Road itinerary, details are provided regarding mileage and directions, as well as descriptions of historical, cultural, recreational and archaeological sites located en route. For example, the Red Rock Scenic Road is a 7.5 mile drive tracing one of the oldest routes in Red Rock Country, a land of buttes and spires surrounding Sedona. By clicking on the interactive map, background information pops up about important Vortex and New Age sites in the area. In addition, each Scenic Road offers a comprehensive listing of nearby accommodation and a calendar of local events. Other features include an Arizona Photo Tour and a fascinating section called "Words From the Road", which contains accounts and passages written by people who have personally traveled the Scenic Roads of Arizona. Developed in conjunction with the Arizona Department of Transportation and Arizona Highways magazine, the Arizona Scenic Roads website is linked to the official website of the Arizona Office of Tourism http://www.ArizonaGuide.com To obtain more information or brochures on the excitement Arizona has to offer year-round, travel trade and media may contact the Arizona Office of Tourism (Canada) at 55 Town Centre Court, Suite 642, Toronto, Ontario M1P 4X4, tel: (416) 861-1240; fax (416) 861-1108, or email: azinfo@travelmarketingexperts.com.
